Proceeds benefited the completion of GOC’s Daja Community elementary school project, in Nigeria, that is 75% with the sum of $27,500 USD! Thanks to benevolence of our numerous financial donors. What remains include: painting of the facility, drilling a 540ft deep solar-powered well equipped with an overhead tank and solar lights, and installing toilet facilities and furniture, at the cost of approximately $12,500. The old school, previously built from clay and straw, was destroyed by torrential rains during the wet season of 2013. This new school has now been rebuilt with cinder blocks which will withstand torrential rains each year.
It is anticipated that the new school will increase the current student enrollment from 80 to 240 students over the next few years! This way no child in Daja Community who wants an education will ever be restricted from receiving one!
